Residential Art Weekends
Situated in Llangadog, a busy village on the western edge of the Brecon Beacons, the gallery is surrounded by rolling hills and flanked by rivers. Our painting weekends place you in the centre of this dramatic scenery with your brush in your hand. 2008 Dates 25th/27th July 8th/10th August 15th/17th August 22nd/24th August 5th/7th September TBC These are beginners-only weekends that will devote individual attention to each student's needs. Max of 5 students per weekend. We will focus on drawing, composition, and subject as we explore painting techniques. Participants may choose to paint in watercolours, oils or acrylics. Special parent and child weekends are available. Due to the poularity of the art weekends, accommodation has been transferred from The Last Gallery to The Red Lion Coaching Inn in the village. The weekends are booked through us, but to have a look at the accommodation, here's the website - www.redlionllangadog.co.uk The weekend includes approx 5-6hrs(10am-5pm) painting on Saturday and 3 hrs(10am-1pm)on Sunday. The weather here in Wales is unpredictable so if it rains we move indoors to draw and paint horses (and other animals) at Lluest Horse and Pony Trust - www.lluesthorseandponytrust.org.uk It is expected that you bring you own transport but generally lifts are shared between artists on the day. Please bring with you: Painting and drawing equiptment,warm clothes, rain coat, walking boots, fold away chair, easel(if you have one), sun cream and insect repellent. The weekends include two nights bed and breakfast accomodation and one and a half day's painting. A full day's painting on the Saturday will be at one of the following locations:
